About the department

The Department of Political Science was established in 1995. This Department is typically dedicated to the study of government, politics, and policy. It often offers undergraduate programs that cover a wide range of topics including political theory, international relations, comparative politics, public policy, and political public administration, Indian Constitution, Local Self Government. The department also conducted add-on courses such as District administration (2021-2022), Political Ideology (2022-2023) and Rural Local Self-Government (2023-2024). The department host events such as lectures, group discussions, and workshops, providing students with opportunities to engage with current political issues and network with professionals in the field. The department organizes visits to Panchayat Samiti, Grampanchayat, etc. that help to students to gain practical experience and prepare for careers in politics, government, law, or academia. The department provides knowledge and information to the students about the significance of this subject in Law as well as in MPSC, UPSC and other competitive examinations.
