Today’s world considers English as a global language. It is learnt as a library language for acquiring knowledge of science and technology, trade and commerce. The aim of teaching English is to enable the students to appreciate and enjoy literature. In this age of computerization, English is learnt for the purpose of developing communication skills. With this motto, the Department of English was established in 1995-96. Since its beginning, it has been playing a very important role in all side development of the students in general and enhancement of personality development by organizing various programs and activities besides regular teaching.

The Department of English organizes various communication development activities such as spelling, word and sentences building contests, poetry recitation, drafting advertisements, Essay and Elocution competition, seminars, projects, wall paper, poster and paper presentation and so on. The department also organizes various workshops, seminars and conferences at university, national and international level online and offline mode. It has developed well-equipped ‘Language Lab’. It also runs career oriented and Add-on courses for the students.
