DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS

Department of Physics started in 1995 in Arts Commerce and Science College Palus. The department is funded by the Department of Biotechnology under the DBT scheme from 24-08-2020. Physics is one of the most fundamental scientific disciplines, and its main goal is to understand how the universe behaves. Various undergraduate courses such as BSc-I, BSc-II, and BSc-III run under the department. The research growth in Physics is from 2006. Department of Physics faculty Head Dr.  S.D.Pawar wrote three books, and two students were awarded Ph.D. under the guidance at Shivaji University Kolhapur. About 34 Research Papers are published in national as well as international Journals by Physics Department. UGC Minor research project was completed. In addition to this, the Department of Physics runs certified career-oriented courses Entitled “Electric Maintenance of Domestic Appliances” and Add-on courses, Introduction to Python This department has well-equipped spacious laboratories. There is a departmental library enriched with books as well as provided online video lectures. Frequent departmental meets were organized for the up gradation of all classes’ performance as well as extracurricular activities awareness amongst students through the department. The Physics department organizes webinars and night sky observation programs. The department organizes various student-oriented activities such as poster presentations, seminars, workshops, webinars, field visits, elocution competitions, essay writing, projects, and blended learning activities for the overall development of students. Moreover, the department conducts continuous internal assessments such as home assignments, unit tests, practice tests, internal examinations, mid-term examinations, projects, oral exams, etc. for the academic progression of students. For the students, the Department of Physics specially organizes induction programs regarding syllabus and career counselling seminars. The students who graduated from Physics reflect a good ratio for progression to higher education and are placed in well-recognized private and government sector
