Established under the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948, NCC is a tri-service organization comprising the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings but here is only Army wing. It aims to nurture future leaders by instilling a sense of responsibility, patriotism, and community service in cadets.
The NCC department offers students a structured program that combines military training with academic learning. The program includes activities such as drill practice, rifle shooting, map reading, first aid, and adventure sports. Cadets also participate in camps, parades, and cultural exchanges, which enhance their teamwork and communication skills.
The NCC training is conducted by experienced officers and instructors who provide mentorship and guidance to cadets. Through this program, students develop physical fitness, self-confidence, and leadership abilities. Moreover, NCC cadets have the opportunity to appear for the ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate examinations, which can be beneficial for career prospects in the armed forces and other sectors.
Participation in NCC also encourages cadets to engage in social service activities, contributing to the welfare of the community. Overall, the NCC department in colleges plays a vital role in shaping well-rounded individuals who are ready to serve the nation with dedication and integrity.
